The threadbo village and ski resort is situated in the snowy mountains in New South wales and also partly belongs to the Snowy River Shire. Thredbo is known to have the longest ski runs in Australia when the mountain is entirely covered under snow and this feature attracts upto 700,000 tourists in the winter. Being host to a range of activities like rock climbing ,abseiling, fishing and cross country cycling it also attracts upto 300,000 visitors every summer.
The ski resort is set within the Kosciuszko National Park and was built based on a European skiing town and jas the steepest overall terrain of any sky resort within australia with the highest lifted point pf 2037m. Thredbo includes over 50 ski runs and uses a standard3 color grade system with green for begginers, blue for intermediate and black diamond for advanced users.
